Hello folks! So sorry it’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been enjoying the time off with my family and rejuvenating my creative spirit.
It has been quite a first year in business! August 2013 marked my first anniversary as a professional photographer and October 2013 marked my first year as a wedding photographer. I shot my first stylized bridal shoot in the spring with some awesome wedding vendors and it was featured on Wedding Chicks and then a photo from that shoot was used as one of the examples for the top wedding trends of 2013 in the Huffington Post! For someone who is new to being published, it’s pretty exciting.
The support from family, friends and clients this year has really helped me to accept myself where I am at. One thing I really struggle with as an artist is being a perfectionist. It is something that has stopped me many times from finishing so many paintings, but I am learning to allow myself to grow into the photographer I want to be. It takes time and experience. I learn something new every time I shoot and I’m just soaking it all in. Thank you to my second shooters who have helped me with my weddings, Amy, Toya and Betsy! You girls did an amazing job. Thank you to my amazing clients this year and enjoy a peek at some of my favorite images of 2013!
I start shooting weddings in two weeks! Bring on 2014. I’m ready. Happy New Year all!
